Hinduism for teenagers

    What Hinduism offers for teenagers

We will enter into the main topic in short but brief.

Youngsters born and brought up in other nations must know the balanced approach of Hinduism between behavior and spiritualism. The rishis of Vedic age gave the formulas to judge the authenticity of any scripture or commentary or any other form of presentation. Therefore it is not the case of interpretation but based on the time tested parameters and penance.

Everyone wants to have a happy and healthy span of life but it isn't possible every time, everywhere and by everyone. A single individual can not stay in the same level of health and happiness every time. Indian philosophy cares about that like caring parents.

The concept of community living is present in Hinduism and expressed by the schools of Indian philosophy. The first one Charvaka talks openly about a happy span of life. It is possible by exercising control over consumption of goods and services. In fact this is the first school to attach a happy life with departure or death.

Now one can analyze the need of rituals or belief from the dimension of philosophical theology. Hinduism developed in India which had an agro based economy. The local agricultural products became part of the ritual or ritual based belief. The financially backward class got the help required by selling agro products. A farmer's wealth is in the form of cultivation. And it stays open under the sky day and night. The animals like cows, buffalo etc are there for help but they also need investment for maintaining their health. The farm products create jobs for many. So we see that the economy of an area gets developed. One can easily see the vision of 'live and let live' which is practically practised. The point to be noted is the entry of philosophical schools asking questions about the dogmatic attitude or fanaticism or ulterior motive wherever seen while promoting belief(s).

Biologically there are many changes in the human body when it touches the age of adolescence. The uncontrollable waves of emotions hit the mind now and then. There is a need to be familiar with the vision of Hinduism related with day to day behavior in the life of teenagers.

The knowledge of self is based on attributes or superimposed identities. Hinduism as a whole asks a person to realize beyond that. Superimposed superficial identity is always relative in nature or based on profession, position, personality, etc. Yaksha yudhisthira samvad which is a 125 Q & A session deals with this in brief. The relative reality is not rejected but Hinduism asks not to flow with it continuously. This book helps in becoming a good administrator on the basis of Hinduism. Our upanishads asks the youth to enjoy the available wealth of earth after becoming a genius in one's own field of profession. Though a metaphor but signal is clear. The scriptures of higher order never favours poverty.

                     Yoga
Classically the word yoga means yukta or to join with the pure consciousness which is faraway from name, form, race, etc. Does it mean that we are not joined we have to go for it? And the action done is always temporary. On the other hand this word is thrown easily without thinking on its misuse or impact on the human mind. Is it only related with stretching and maintaining the flexibility of the body parts?

The current three level course is designed to create an awareness about the concept of yoga with its philosophical vision based on the ashtanga yoga of Maharshi Patanjali. Why should we about that? It will reveal the whole and sole purpose of yoga. The nine classical schools of Indian philosophy are based on that and yoga is one of them.

For whom:- Age between 20 - 50 years irrespective of their professional or educational background. The main criteria is the keen interest in the subject and urge of self improvement.

What it will give :- the course will help those who want to transfer themself from human beast to human being. The path of spiritualism emerges from a proper diagnosis of behavior.

Broadminded experts are needed to address controversial, contradictory issues. Instead of blaming others for everything, Hindus must be ready to accept one's own shortcomings. Unnecessary glorification can't be useful in the long run. Over thinking & talking about the condition of hindus staying in India, asking for donating won't help victimized hindus staying in developed nations and ignoring the trend of cheating Indian students, misbehaving with the house staff (maids and servants) will never serve the purpose of spreading the dharmic values.
Scores of documented cases are there to prove this ugly side but Hindu leaders are not ready to address these things.
Fashion of giving ornamental lectures, writing books and neglecting the application part is a blunder. Simply organizing ceremonies, entertaining those who are totally anti Hindu, in the temples, and even converting it into a shopping complex must be properly analyzed.
Stop being selective and calculative while raising the voice. The fire never discriminates.
